The concept for my fabrics stems from the philosophy of yin and yang. It is this idea that forms the basis of a higher relationship be it between God and Man, God and Nature, or Man and nature.

It also converges on a personal level-man with history, his home, his parents, friends and loved ones. I weave these relationships with the yin and yang philosophy into the fabric.

My perception of silk is feminine. The combination of hard (abaca, piña) and soft (silk) materials is precisely the philosophy of yin and yang. Put together, they fight and harmonize to create a new personality.

The loom is the tool of creation. The creations are the fabrics-much like the painter’s canvas, and the musician’s scattered note. The fabrics are my poems, my songs, my paintings.
